In short: the calculator gives estimates, not official decisions. Use it for fun and planning, and always check your school district's announcement.
Estimates only
The chances shown are estimates made from public weather forecasts and climate data. They are not school closure announcements and may be wrong. Only your school district decides whether school is closed, delayed or open. Don't rely on this site for safety, travel or childcare decisions.
No warranty
The site is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. Forecasts change, data can be incomplete, and the site may be unavailable at times. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for decisions made using it.
Fair use of the site
You're welcome to use and share results. Please don't scrape the site at high volume, interfere with its operation, or submit false outcome reports.
Third-party data
Weather data comes from the National Weather Service and NOAA; school district data from the National Center for Education Statistics. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by these agencies or by any school district.
